Portfolio

Browse through my portfolio to see how I’ve applied my skills in information science, web development, and data visualization to real-world projects, demonstrating my commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Tea Website 1

This tea-themed website showcases the culmination of skills and knowledge acquired during my Information Technology Tools and Applications course. Over the duration of the class, I mastered the fundamentals of web development, including HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. For the final project, I integrated these various technologies to create a cohesive and visually appealing website. The result is a testament to my growth as a web developer and my ability to apply technical skills to produce a functional and engaging online presence.

Tea Website 2

Building upon my previous tea-themed website, I applied the knowledge and skills gained from a course on Bootstrap to enhance its visual appeal and functionality. By incorporating the original website elements into a Bootstrap template, I was able to create a more polished and responsive design. This project allowed me to further develop my web development skills, demonstrating my ability to adapt and integrate new tools and technologies to improve the user experience.

Project Management Software Review Website

For this project, I conducted an in-depth analysis and review of various project management software programs to compare their features, usability, and overall effectiveness. After evaluating multiple options, I presented the findings through a website built on a Bootstrap template, ensuring that the information was accessible and visually appealing. This project enabled me to develop my skills in software evaluation, web development, and communication of complex information to diverse audiences.

Data Visualization Report

This data visualization report explores differences in how men and women allocated their leisure time before and after the pandemic. To create the report, I gathered data from the American Time Use Survey and used Open Refine to clean, organize, and prepare the dataset. I then employed Tableau to create insightful visualizations that effectively communicate the findings and highlight trends in time use by gender. This project allowed me to apply my data analysis and visualization skills while gaining valuable insights into the impact of the pandemic on time use patterns.

Misinformation Instructional Video

This instructional video on information literacy was created for a course assignment and to support a librarian in delivering instruction to her 4th-grade classes. I utilized Microsoft Clipchamp and CyberLink PowerDirector to film and edit the video, which was subsequently uploaded to YouTube. The project not only allowed me to practice my video production skills but also contributed to promoting information literacy among young learners.
